Mungindi is a small, rural border town uniquely located on both sides of the NSW and Queensland border. The town, separated by the Barwon River, is situated approximately 120km north-west of Moree. Mungindi has a population of 800 people and offers travellers warm, country hospitality.
The Artesian Bore was drilled at Mungindi in 1996 at a depth of 1037 metres. Thermal water from the Great Artesian Basin in the 5.8m x 3m pool is kept at approximately 38 degrees – rest and rejuvenate in our mineral-rich, naturally filtered, thermal artesian waters. To keep cool in the summer months there is also a 33 m pool and for families a children’s wading pool. The complex includes shower and toilet facilities.
Settle back for the day and relax in the tranquil environment. Mungindi has an RSL Club, Golf Club, tennis courts, supermarket, hospital and several retail stores.
