Boomi Artesian Pool

Whether you come for a day or stay for a week, Boomi is a place you can make as busy or relaxing as you like. There are walks, historical sites, places to eat, sports to play, swimming, sightseeing and people to meet! The town of Boomi is located near the border of NSW & Queensland, one hour North West of Moree or one hour west of Goondiwindi. Both Lightning Ridge and Queensland can be accessed after a pleasant stopover at the quiet and well shaded Artesian Baths in Boomi. The Boomi Artesian Pool draws artesian water from a depth of 1,222 metres and has been used to swim in since its construction in 1905. Construction of the present day baths was commenced in 1975 and the latest addition of the spa baths was in 1996.

There is a 25m cold pool, wading pool and a hot artesian spa pool with numerous jet spas to soothe those aches and pains. Hot artesian water is also added to the cold pools to help reduce the shivers a little! Facilities available include a Kiosk, free BBQ, toddler’s playground and adjoining tennis courts.

Harnessing this pure source of underground water has become an asset to our which we now share with you!

It is a terrific place to relax, either in the water, on the poolside lounge or on the lush green lawn under the shade sails.

Accommodation consists of caravan sites adjoining the Baths, Bush Campsites and rooms at the Pioneer Hotel. Caravans and camper trailers can also stay at Bush camps on local properties near the township of Boomi or on the Barwon River. Local Yabbies are available for eating or for use as bait. The Boomi community boasts many energetic groups, who together with the generous support and help of the local people provide a wide variety of essential and fun organisations!
